Essential accessories for your battery bank
Battery accessories ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of your storage system. Proper selection of cables, terminals, fuses, disconnectors, busbars, and supports prevents voltage drops, overheating, and failures, and ensures compliance with best practices in off-grid solar installations, marine applications, caravans, and small businesses.
What you will find in this collection
- DC cables and terminals: cross-sections in mm² for 12/24/48 V; eyelets, ferrules, and heat-shrink sleeves.
- Terminals and connectors: battery terminals, service connectors, and intercell bridges.
- Protections: ANL/MEGA/MIDI fuses and fuse holders close to the battery to limit short-circuit currents.
- DC disconnectors/switches: safe disconnection for maintenance and emergencies.
- Busbars and distributors: collector bars for clean grouping of returns and positives.
- Support and protection: trays, clamps, terminal covers, and anti-vibration elements.
- Sensors and probes for temperature for optimal charging (depending on regulator/inverter).
Quick sizing guide
| Element | Criterion | Notes |
| DC cable | Cross-section by current and length | Seek voltage drop < 3% in battery–inverter runs |
| Fuse | ≥ 1.25 × Imax of the run | Place it as close as possible to the battery positive |
| Disconnector | Nominal I and V ≥ system | Compatible with 12/24/48 V DC and expected power |
| Busbar | Adequate continuous amperage | Allow margin for peaks and future expansions |
| Terminal | Gauge according to cable | Proper crimping and heat-shrink for sealing |
Installation best practices
- Protect all positives with a fuse near the battery; respect polarity and the manufacturer's torque specification.
- Keep short runs and adequate cross-sections to minimize voltage drop.
- Use an accessible DC disconnector for maintenance and safety.
- Centralize connections on busbars to avoid bunching at the battery terminal.
- In multi-battery banks, balance connections (take + at one end and – at the opposite) for current distribution.
Related accessories
Complete your system with:
- Battery monitors (shunt) to measure SOC, current, and consumption.
- Battery chargers with suitable profiles (AGM, GEL, OPzS, Lithium).
- MPPT regulators with temperature probe for optimal charging.
With the right battery accessories, your installation gains in safety, durability, and efficiency. If you have not yet chosen the accumulator, review our batteries (lithium, monoblock, stationary) and configure a balanced system from start to finish.
