What is the Voltronic collection?
The Voltronic collection groups together inverters from the Axpert and InfiniSolar families, popular for their performance/price ratio in off-grid and self-consumption installations with batteries. They integrate a pure sine wave inverter, AC charger, and photovoltaic controller (MPPT or PWM depending on the series), thus simplifying the panel by concentrating functions in a single device. They are available for 12/24/48 V systems and typical power ratings between 1 kW and 11 kW.
Advantages and limitations
- “All-in-one” solution: inverter + charger + controller (in models with integrated MPPT/PWM).
- Flexible configurations: solar, grid, or battery priority, and backup modes for critical loads.
- Wide availability of spare parts and accessories, with simple installation and commissioning.
- Good option for tight budgets in residential or small business projects.
- Limitations: check Voc/Isc of the PV array against the integrated controller; some models handle lower PV voltage than a high-end external MPPT. Not all allow parallel operation or three-phase configuration.
Applications
- Off-grid homes with solar generation and generator backup.
- Self-consumption with batteries and backup function in case of grid outages.
- Small businesses, farms, irrigation cabins, or telecommunications.
How to choose your Voltronic
- System voltage: 12 V (low power and short distances), 24 V (medium), 48 V (high power and better currents).
- Solar regulation: MPPT recommended for performance; PWM (VP series) suitable for low-voltage PV arrays.
- Continuous and peak power: size according to the sum of loads and start-up peaks (motors, pumps, compressors).
- PV input: check cold Voc and string Isc against the limit of the integrated controller; if you need more margin, consider an external MPPT.
- Battery: compatibility with lithium or lead (AGM/GEL), charge current, and communications/BMS if applicable.
Indicative specifications
| Topology | Inverter-charger with integrated PV controller (MPPT/PWM depending on series) |
| Nominal voltages | 12 V / 24 V / 48 V (depending on model) |
| Typical power | ≈ 1–11 kW single-phase |
| Modes | PV/grid/battery priority, UPS/backup, equalization (lead) |
| PV input | Voc/Isc limits depending on the series (see each model’s datasheet) |
| Accessories | Sensors, communication modules, AC/DC protections, PV structures |
Best practices
- Calculate Voc at minimum temperature and respect the controller’s margin; protect strings with DC protections.
- Separate critical loads in a sub-panel and coordinate circuit breakers/RCDs for AC.
- Configure charge curves appropriate to the battery and check DC cable sections/torque pairs.
- Provide for ventilation and thermal environment; in warm climates, install in cool, dust-free areas.
