What is the Sungrow collection?
In this collection, we bring together the Sungrow portfolio for residential and commercial self-consumption: grid-tied inverters (SG single-phase and three-phase series), hybrid inverters with battery input (SH series), high-voltage lithium batteries SBR/SBH with their BMU/base, and peripherals such as single-phase/three-phase meters, CTs, communication boxes, and gateways. The objective is to achieve maximum performance per string, electrical safety, and intelligent monitoring of the entire installation from the Sungrow app/portal.
Advantages and limitations
- Wide coverage of power ratings and topologies: SG for grid connection 1F/3F; SH for storage with Sungrow HV batteries.
- Fast back-up (depending on model) and dynamic load management with meter/CT for zero export.
- Modular SBR/SBH batteries: scalable in kWh, high charge/discharge efficiency, and native communication.
- Communication accessories and gateways that facilitate commissioning, updates, and remote diagnostics.
- Limitations: respect inverter-battery compatibility tables and string design within admitted Voc/Isc/MPPT.
Applications
- Residential with single-phase SG and SH inverters for self-consumption and backup.
- Light commercial and SMEs with three-phase SG inverters of medium/high power.
- Hybrid systems with HV storage for peak reduction and night-time use.
- Integration with electric vehicle chargers to take advantage of surplus energy.
How to choose in Sungrow
- Topology: grid-only (SG) if you do not need a battery; hybrid (SH) to add storage now or in the future.
- Phase and power: 1F for residential (typical range 2–10 kW); 3F for SMEs and warehouses (from 5 kW up to tens of kW).
- PV input: check number of MPPTs, current per input, and maximum voltage (Voc in cold) of the modules.
- Battery: SBR/SBH high-voltage series; size according to useful daily energy (kWh), discharge power, and number of cycles.
- Measurement and control: add meter/CT for zero export, balancing, and load automation.
Indicative specifications
| SG inverter power range (1F/3F) | ≈ 2–110+ kW depending on series |
| SH hybrid inverters | 1F/3F models with HV battery input |
| Batteries | Modular SBR/SBH HV, dedicated BMU/base |
| MPPT | 1–3 in 1F / 2–10 in 3F (model-dependent) |
| Communication | App/portal, gateways, and COI/COM boxes for local network or cloud |
| Functions | Back-up (depending on model), export limitation, time programming |
Best practices for design and installation
- Calculate Voc at minimum temperature and Isc with a safety factor for each MPPT.
- Align the PV field peak power with the inverter AC power to avoid prolonged saturation.
- In hybrids, separate the critical loads panel and check the required backup power.
- Program the meter/CT in the correct direction for stable zero export and reliable statistics.
- Complete the project with suitable DC protections, AC protections, solar cable, and electrical panels.
